My Summer Bucket List

Our trip to the Zoo with G-Mom and Papa

Our trip to the Zoo with G-Mom and Papa

If you have kids, summer can be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it's great to have them home to spend more time with you; on the other hand, cabin fever can set in real darn quick if you're not careful.

Here in Austin, our weather is finnicky (it's 80 degrees and raining literally as I write this), so outdoor activities are not always a good option. In case you have a similar problem where you live, I've tried to include some indoor summer activities for kids in addition to the outdoor fun. These are all low-cost or no-cost activities, because affordability is key for us (as I'm sure it is for you).

I'll note that this post is partly to help you out, but also to hold myself accountable and actually get out and do some of this stuff! I'm trying to fight that homebody instinct, but it is hard, letmetellyou. So I'm counting on you to hold me to it! Head on over to my Instagram and yell at me if you don't see some family fun photos in the coming weeks, haha.

Here we go!

  • Bake a pie or cake
  • Make fancy milkshakes
  • Eat a Sno Cone
  • Make S'mores
  • Homemade popsicles
  • Have a barbecue

Chill

  • Build a bonfire
  • Read a book outside
  • Have a movie marathon (we just did The Hobbit!)

That's it for my summer bucket list! What do you have planned to beat summer cabin fever? Let me know in the comments!

Much Love,

Michelle
