Baby Birthdays and the New Opalhouse Collection

Today is a super-special day!

My littlest baby...

...AND my middle-est baby...

...both have birthdays today!

More on how that happened in another post, cause it's a funny story.

Elliot is now one year old (excuse me while I go cry my eyes out), and Abby will be four. She's starting preschool in August (excuse me while I go cry some more).

I am both incredibly excited and not even remotely emotionally prepared to handle this. We're having a low-key celebration this weekend with our close friends and family, and we have requested clothes as presents for both of them because, let me tell you, I am overrrr toys. Like beyond done with them. So clothes it is. Good thing Abby loves shoes and hoodies. So hopefully a good, mellow celebration will help me to not be an emotional wreck. Ahhh, motherhood.

ANYWAY.

It is still Wishlist Wednesday, so I have a little bit of a special edition since it's a special day. As many of my fellow Tar-jay lovers may well know, their new Opalhouse home collection launched last week, and BRUH. I need this shit in my house, like now.

Opalhouse is the perfect blend of boho/"global" and mid century-modern, which sounds like it should not make sense at all, but it totally does.

I'm going to warn you, if you don't want to spend money, do NOT look at this post. Seriously, their velvet throw pillows alone are enough to make me go broke (even though they're really reasonably priced).

You've been warned.

And if you're choosing to ignore that warning, well here you go. My favorites from Opalhouse!

Furniture

The Rattan Fan-Back Chair is my favorite thing ever. I want to put one of those faux Angora skins and a velvet pillow in it and set a Majesty Palm next to it and have pool boys feed me grapes all day. Wait no, make that fish tacos. Fish tacos and beer. Perfect.

Bedding & Textiles

Seriously, how amazing is that tasseled velvet pillow?! It comes in fuchsia and teal also, and I need all of themmm. There's a lot of great textiles in this collection, though. I really love the Moroccan Wedding throw blanket and the Palm Wallpaper as well.

Dining

What I really love about this collection is that it truly has a global vibe. They didn't just slap some ikat print on everything and call it global because it looks vaguely African or Middle-Eastern.

They really took care in selecting a variety of colors and prints to maximize the effect. The blue floral/toile print pulls from Scandinavian design, the painted wood bowls are reminiscent of Mexican craft, and the woven textiles and pom fringe suggest Moroccan influence.

Lighting and Decor

I really love the effort they put into the carving in many of these pieces. And I love pretty much any thing brass, and palms are my favorite, so I will most definitely be grabbing the candleholders above. And don't get me started on the scalloped lamp.

Bath

I think my favorite items from their bath collection are the embossed towels. They look SO FREAKING SOFT. The embossed design and fringe really take it into the luxury realm, and they're only $7. Seriously guys.

That's it for the Opalhouse collection! Comment below and let me know which items you're most excited about!

Much Love,

Michelle
