It’s almost Fridayyyyy!

Aren’t you excited?! I am. I’m honestly just done with this week. Everybody has been cranky lately, the girls get out of school early tomorrow, and then they have all next week off. Which I’m actually pretty excited about, but I’m also dreading, because our weather has been freezing cold here lately, and I do not have a single damn clue what to do with these kids for a week while they’re all stuffed in this house. So needless to say, I’m a little burned out already. Yeesh.

moving on…

I wanted to finish my Fall Momiform series since the weather is getting colder, and I had a little fun a couple of weeks ago with this outfit.

Now, I actually wore this as my Halloween “costume.” We’ve been bingeing on AHS, and we had just finished up Coven, so I decided that I was going to dress up kind of like Misty Day, since I was low on costume funds, and she’s my favorite little hippie witch.

I had this great sheer velvet fabric (which I had been planning to make a kimono out of, but shit happens), and I decided to make a nice flowy maxi skirt. Paired that with a sweet boho hat, and some booties, and had a look that I think the swamp witch herself would be quite proud of.

Anyway, I ended up liking it so much that I thought I would make it into an outfit post for you guys, and I thought that the maxi skirt + booties + wide-brimmed hat made a good outfit formula for fall. I threw a faux leather jacket on top because it’s frickin cold, and I wanted to add a little edginess, because that’s more me.

To accessorize my hippie-swamp-witch look, I decided to go with large, flat, burnished-gold hoops, and some “fringe” drop earrings in the same color (in my second row), both of which I got from Target. Both styles come in silver as well, and have a matte-metallic finish. I don’t usually wear hoops, but I really love these. With my costume, I also wore this hammered gold cuff, although it’s not pictured in this shoot.

I went for a multi-strand necklace in gold with little rose quartz crystals to accentuate the neckline, since I just wore a simple camisole tucked into the skirt.

Side Note: I tried to find a skirt similar to this style of fabric and couldn’t! Is it just me, or have maxi skirts practically disappeared off the face of the planet?

Obviously this momiform is more for weekend outings when you’re actually going somewhere and not just running errands. But I loved it so much I just had to share it with you guys.

I don’t normally wear hats (besides beanies) because I always feel like I’m trying too hard. But I love this one. Plus, it’s not only stylish, but practical as well (wouldn’t ya know, it actually serves its purpose?!). When we went trick-or-treating, it started pouring rain, and I didn’t get wet at all. Bonus points!
