Happy Thursday, guys!

It’s been awhile since we had some fall outfit inspiration, so I thought I’d bring you volume three of my fall momiform.

I’m super proud of myself because we actually got out for a real photo shoot instead of me having to take crappy photos in front of my garage. Woo! By the way, if you ever need someplace with cool architecture for a photo shoot, just head to your local university. They’re usually full of cool places to take photos.

Now, moving on to the outfit.

Honestly, I struggle with calling this a “uniform” for me, because I never really considered myself a vest person. BUT, I picked up this puffer vest from Old Navy on sale for $15, and I frickin love itttt. This vest comes in a bunch of great neutrals and bold colors for fall.

Combine that with a good flannel, jeans, and riding boots, and you’ve got yourself a casual fall outfit that works for just about any outing.

So!

fall momiform outfit formula #3:

puffer vest + flannel + jeans + riding boots

Let’s talk about the vest first. I love this one because the material is silky smooth, and it has a soft fleece lining for extra warmth. The puffer is more “modern,” but if you wanted to go for a more classic English style with the riding boots, go for a quilted vest like this one.

If you read my fall wardrobe essentials post, you might recall that I mentioned that one of my favorite places to find flannel shirts is in the men’s department. Not only are they easier to find in a variety of colors and styles, but they also tend to be warmer.

The flannel I’m wearing here happens to be an old H&M women’s shirt, but they only offer one style now, and it’s not a particularly great style. How many flannels do they offer in the men’s department, you might ask? Twenty-friggin-three. That’s excluding the sleeveless styles, too. Guys have it so easy.

Anyway.

I really like this minimalist black and white kind of windowpane-style check, but if you wanted something bolder and a little more classic, you could go for a buffalo check. I especially like this forest green one from H&M.

For this outfit, jeans should be skinny and have a darker wash. Although, depending on the color of your vest and boots, you might be able to do a lighter wash as well.

I prefer knee-high leather riding boots in a classic cognac or black for this look, but you could go with suede, and change the color up with a nice taupe or grey. Again, it depends on what color you choose for your vest and flannel.

Last but not least, I chose my classic Dooney & Bourke satchel to go with my riding boots for a classic English look. But a tote or crossbody would look equally at home in this outfit.

That’s it for this week! Be sure to scroll down for the outfit details. And, how do you feel about vests? Let me know in the comments, and have a great weekend!!

Much Love,

Michelle
